The NHR Summer School provides further education and training in the field of HPC for NHR Graduate School fellows exclusively. In addition, special attention is given to fostering networking and exchange among the members of the NHR Graduate School.
The NHR Summer School 2025 is scheduled to take place from May 19-23, 2025, at the Erlangen Regional Computing Center, seminar room 2.049, Martensstr. 1, 91058 Erlangen, (view on map).
The event is being organized by the NHR centers in Erlangen (NHR@FAU), Berlin (NHR@ZIB), and Darmstadt (NHR@TUDa), in collaboration with the NHR Office.
This Moodle page provides all necessary information for participation, including lecture slides, example code, and miscellaneous material.

All fellows are strongly encouraged to prepare a poster that presents their PhD research topic for participation in the Poster Exhibition of the NHR Summer School 2025. In addition, all fellows are requested to submit an abstract of their poster (max. 300 words). The poster can be utilized at the ISC'25 Conference and the NHR Conference 2025.
The poster exhibition is scheduled to commence on May 19, 2025, at 2 p.m. and will conclude on May 23, 2025, at 1 p.m.
Posters printing and (poster) abstracts submission
All fellows are requested to upload their posters and poster abstracts to the following folder if it should be printed at the Erlangen Computer Center. The deadline is May 13, 2025.
As an alternative option, the poster can be brought to the NHR Summer School Poster Exhibition already printed. The poster abstract must still be submitted by May 13, 2025.

Please note that the poster must be hung up by each fellow independently.
Posters contents
The posters should showcase the following information about the fellow's research work:
- research subject
- present state of research
- methodology used.
Information for fellows of the 4th cohort: please prepare a poster on your planned research topic and methodology or, if this is not yet possible, on your previous scientific research, e.g., master's thesis, publications, conference participation, etc..
Posters format
- Format: DIN A0 portrait orientation.
- Size: 841 mm × 1189 mm, with a high resolution to ensure readability, e.g., 2384 px × 3370 px at 72 dpi.
- File Size: max. 10 MB.

14:00-18:30 Welcome + Self-Presentations by the Fellows + Poster Session
Location: RRZE, Martensstr. 1, Seminar room 2.049
- Welcome speech by Prof. Gerhard Wellein, member of the NHR Aliance Board of Directors and head of NHR@FAU and Prof. Kai Willner, Dean of Technical Faculty, FAU (20 min.)
- Short Welcome and Introduction to the science system in Germany from the NHR-Office (45 min.)
- The fellows introduce themselves and their research plans with posters (1.5 h)
- Networking w.r.t. cooperations and secondment (45 min.)
18:30-21:00 Get-together- Welcome dinner with pizza
